The Point Pleasant Community Garden has had its most productive year ever in 2023.  The garden was able to provide over 8,000 pounds of produce to the Elk Grove Food Bank! We have increased our individual plots to seven and the Cambodian Congregation plot continues to flourish.

Since the founding of the community garden more than a decade ago, we have been blessed by having people who have shared their time and talents. And those contributions have allowed the garden to flourish. As a result, over the last 11 years the Point Pleasant Community Garden has contributed over 26 tons of organically grown fruit and vegetables to the Elk Grove Food Bank. The garden has also provided a number of church members the opportunity grow their own healthy vegetables that are grown on their individual garden plots.

The garden includes an Inspiration Garden with a patio made up of engraved bricks, a shaded pergola, chairs and benches, landscaping and worship materials for those wishing to spend time relaxing in the garden. There is also a designed plot so that the children can learn about gardening hands on.

We are always looking for volunteers who can help harvest and or deliver the produce to the Food Bank during the summer. If you can help out or would like more information, please contact the church office.

Elk Grove United Methodist Church sponsors a community breakfast each Saturday. For over a decade, volunteers from Point Pleasant UMC have been staffing this breakfast on the third Saturday of each month. The breakfast is free and provides a variety of nutritious food to those in need in the community.

Each month we ask for volunteers to help staff the 3rd Saturday Breakfast. A volunteer shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to help set up, cook, serve, wash dishes and clean up. Please contact the church office if you are interested in helping or would like more information.
