We are so blessed to have Pastor Neal in his 20th year with us at Point Pleasant! After serving as a Physician’s Assistant in the Air Force, Pastor Neal was called into the ministry while attending our sister church, Elk Grove UMC. He had considered becoming a teacher as his second career, but chose to be a Pastor in the hopes that he could do both! Pastor Neal is an excellent preacher and shepherd. He received his ministerial training from Pacific School of Religion graduating in 1996. Raised in Pleasant Hill California, Pastor Neal is married to Linda. They have three grown children and are proud grandparents to five.

Favorite thing about Point Pleasant: “Being part of a church where no one comes by accident – everyone is friend-sent or God-sent.”

Linda keeps the office running smoothly! After many years of small business experience, Linda joined the staff of Point Pleasant and has been with us since 2006. She moved to Pt. Pleasant Road as a teen and says she plans to work here until she can’t work. When not running the office, Linda can be found working in our community garden, exercising, seeing a movie, or chilling out in front of her lava lamp collection–all of which she does with her hubby Antonio. Linda is also mom to two adult kids and “Grammie” to four.

Favorite thing about Point Pleasant: “This is a family, and like a family we can be close and involved in each other’s lives. This is also an active, multi-generational church; my mom, my husband and I, our children and grandchildren all worship together. What a blessing!”

They have two daughters at home and just sent their oldest off to college.

Favorite thing about Point Pleasant: “The people! They are my second family and have supported me through so much.”

Child Care – Irene Chacon
Irene can be found on Sundays (and sometimes other days!) caring for the children in our safe and bright nursery. She is a preschool teacher by trade and can’t get enough time with our littlest ones. Irene has two grown daughters and is a proud grandma.

Favorite thing about Point Pleasant: “From the first time I came to PPUMC, it felt like home. Over the past 15 years, Pastor Neal and many others have helped me through both my joys and the hardest of times in my life. I am so proud to call Point Pleasant my church family.”
